Facts
[B.], born in 1981, suffers from spinal muscular atrophy type II (Kugelberg-Welander), which leads to paresis of the lower extremities and reduced strength in the upper extremities. Since August 2008, [B.] has been working part-time as a mathematics teacher. The IV office of the Canton of Thurgau granted her a half disability pension for the period after completion of her vocational training (from July 2007), based on the expert opinion that she is capable of working as a teacher to a maximum of 50 percent.
