Facts
[A.] (1973) and [B.] (1974) married in 2000 and have two children, [C.] (born 2005) and [D.] (born 2008). Since February 2009, the parties have been living separately, with the mother moving with the children to the Canton of Valais. The divorce proceedings have been ongoing since February 2011. The District Court of Zurich dissolved the marriage in December 2012 and awarded sole parental responsibility to the mother. The father appealed and demanded sole parental responsibility. The Cantonal Court of Zurich dismissed the appeal in September 2013, whereupon the father filed a complaint with the Federal Supreme Court. The Federal Supreme Court overturned the Cantonal Court's judgment and remanded the case for a hearing of the children and a new decision by the lower court. In the remanded proceedings, the Cantonal Court heard the children in September 2014 and obtained the files from the child protection authority. It concluded that the basis for joint parental responsibility was no longer given due to the severe and persistent parental conflict, particularly the lack of willingness to communicate and cooperate. Therefore, it awarded sole parental responsibility to the mother. The father's visitation rights were newly regulated and limited to hourly visits at the children's place of residence as of May 2015. From the summer school holidays 2017 onwards, the father shall be allowed to have the children visit him once a month and to spend two separate vacation weeks with them.Considerations
